ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Presentations are encouraged to be in English to
reach the widest audience at the Forum. Submissions
for panels in a single language (either Spanish, French
or Portuguese) will be accepted for review, but simultaneous
translation is not guaranteed and they may not be
translated into English for the Forum abstract book.
- Please type your abstract in a word processor and
save it in your documents. Abstracts will be formatted
into PDF for publication.
- Please use “Arial” font, single spaced
text and limit the body of the abstract to 300 words.
Initials, abbreviations and other characters that
are not common should be avoided.
- The title should be as brief as possible but long
enough to indicate clearly the nature of the study
(15 words maximum). Capitalize the first letter of
each word of the title, no period at the end.
- Please do not identify features such as the names
of the authors and their affiliations in the title
or the body of the abstract. The names of the authors
and their affiliations will be submitted at the beginning
of the process.
- The abstract should be composed of 4 sections:
- The objective which
should state the purpose briefly and clearly.
- The materials and methods
which should clearly describe the selection of
observations or experimental subjects,
- The results which
should be presented in a logical sequence using
text only,
- The conclusions of
the work, which should emphasize new and important
aspects of the study and conclusions drawn from
these. General statements such as “the significance
of these findings will be discussed” will
be regarded unfavorably.
- NOTE: Acceptance or rejection of an abstract
is based on the average grade awarded by the reviewers.
