Support for obtaining visas

 

The support that the International EcoHealth Forum 2008 provides to foreign participants who require visa to enter to México is the following:

  • Invitation letter sent by email.
  • Support on the part of the National Institute of Migration (NIM) in order to facilitate the visa process to Forum participants, as long as the petitioner has the documents requested for the NIM.
  • Support on the part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to facilitate the visa process to Forum participants, as long as the petitioner has the documents requested for the MFA.

NOTE: The International EcoHealth Forum 2008 is unable to provide economic support in relation to the visa process.

 

Visa information - participants

 

For participants from countries that do NOT require a visa

Participants who are citizens of the following countries do not need to apply for a visa to enter Mexico:

(*Chinese citizens with passports issued by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or by the Macau authority)

All you need is:

  • A valid passport expiring at least 6 months after the date of your entry to Mexico
  • To complete the standard "Migration Form for Tourists, Transmigrants, Visiting Businesspersons, or Visiting Consultants", (FMTTV) which will be given to you on the airplane or at the airport (an example is available here).

You need to present the completed form and your passport to the immigration authorities at the airport of entry into Mexico.

 

For Participants from Countries that Require a Visa

If you are from a country which does require a visa to enter Mexico please follow the steps below:

  • Contact your closest Mexican consulate/embassy (list is available here) and present the following:

    • Your Passport

    • Proof of economic solvency, with one of the following documents:
      • Proof of stable employment or independent activity in your place of residency, accrediting a minimum monthly income of US$ 500.00, or
      • Proof of real estate ownership, duly registered in your name, or
      • Copy of your bank or securities account statement with average annual balance of at least US$ 2,000.00, or Copy of an international credit card.

    • Your Letter of Invitation

    • US$36 (or equivalent in local currency)

    • A completed visa application form  (Download the form in English, Spanish or French)

    • Please note that if you apply for a visa in China or Russia you will also need to provide a photo (in colour and passport format) and they will also take the fingerprints of your two index fingers.

    • The citizens of Belize, Jamaica, El Salvador and Malaysia do not need visa, but they must go to some Mexican consulate to obtain the migratory from.

 

No Mexican Representation in your Country
- Arab States - Caribbean Islands – Africa – Eastern Europe – Asia – Pacific Islands

If there is no Mexican consulate or embassy that can issue a visa in your country you will need to either apply, in person, at a consulate or embassy in another country (the full list is available here).
